Trunk Show: $150
Title: "What was I thinking?!"
And I do mean, "What was I thinking?! In my lecture I discuss the adventures I have had in the world of quilting. It has been wonderful! I bring lots of quilts, from the first one I had published to most recent. My trunk show last about 1 1/2 hours, and Q&A time. I will need 2 people to hold the quilts and 2 people to fold them and 2-3 tables. If you would like to drape the quilts over church pews, that is perfectly fine. I will need helpers to fold the quilts after the trunk show.
Travel expenses: mileage/hotel/food
1) Smokey Mountains
This is a fun quilt to make! Make it scrappy or control the colors. I take you step by step to keep this organized and easy!
2) Compass Fire Star:
Block size 15 x 15
Easy to piece! NO Y seams, NO paper piecing! During class time, we will take a quick break so that I can show the other blocks and borders that can be created from the basic units from the main block.
Template set required, cost $10
3) Rock Around the Block: (quilt is hanging in the background. I was on the set of Quilting Arts)
Rock Around the Block was featured in Fons & Porter's Scrap Quilts Summer issue 2015. Rock Around the Block came from the original block "Jack's Chain". Jack's Chain is an intricate block to piece. I redesigned the block so that there are NO Y seams! With a little organization, cute little 9-patches and a great background fabric, you are good to go!
There is a template students will need to purchase, cost for template is $5
4) Friendship Rings:
This was my first published quilt! This is one fun quilt! Scrappy Scrappy or control the fabric colors. Students will need to focus on the "Ring" being the same color. Quilt requires the following templates: Easy Angle, Tri Recs set, strip cutting ruler and a 9 1/2" square ruler or 12 1/2" square ruler.
5)Whimsical Applique (picture coming soon)
This technique was featured on PBS tv show Quilting Arts. A fun whimsical way to give your applique a new look. Students will learn how to use leftover blocks, orphan blocks, strip sets, scraps to create their applique pieces. Along with this technique I teach students how to curve cross hatch on their domestic machines, along with other modern quilting designs, using decorative stitches (character stitches). Students do not go home with another UFO from a class, they go home with a new technique sampler.
